Erin Mayer and Jacob Isaacson’s Rustic Austin Wedding at Pecan Grove
SWEET BEGINNINGS: Erin and Jacob met while working as counselors at a camp in Wisconsin. They spent time together that summer, but after camp ended, they went their separate ways. Many years later, a friend of Erin’s started dating a friend of Jacob’s. Jacob got Erin’s number from her friend, and he called to ask her out. They’ve been together ever since!
THE SETTING: Erin and Jacob were married at Pecan Grove at The Salt Lick. The beautiful venue consists of a hilltop building, a cobblestone aisle and a creek, all under a canopy of pecan trees. The couple knew they wanted barbecue at their wedding, so the venue was an immediate choice for them! The magical setting was even better than they imagined.
HUES SHE USED: Erin got inspiration for the hues she used from her favorite wedding photos. Many of the photos she admired came from Brides of Austin!
MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT: Erin’s most memorable moment was when she surprised Jacob by singing “I Choose You” by Sara Bareilles while her dad played guitar. It was such a special moment for both the bride and groom.
SPECIAL TRADITIONS: To add a personal touch to their wedding, Erin and Jacob signed the ketubah before the ceremony and were married under a chuppah. At the reception, the couple danced the hora and was lifted up on chairs while guests circled around the dance floor.
SAVORY SWEETS: Erin’s wedding cake was a three-tier white cake by Sweet Treets Bakery embellished with polkadots and stunning flowers.
VENDOR LOVE: Erin was particularly impressed with the work done by her florist, Wendee Sawran, with Botanical No. 9. Wendee listened to everything the bride and groom wanted, even when they couldn’t fully express it. She understood their every desire and delivered to perfection.
