We’re continuing our Planner Profile series today and couldn’t be more thrilled to showcase Austin wedding planner Ellen Westcott of Westcott Weddings! Ellen finds joy in designing thoughtful experiences and believes that each couple’s wedding day should be just that: an experience that reflects the couple genuinely, from beginning to end! Both Ellen and her senior planner Meredith believe in events that are personal, intentional and meaningful, and they count themselves lucky to be part of their couples’ journeys!
Before beginning her wedding planning business, Ellen consulted with worldwide clients through agency work, honing her skills in creative direction and project execution. Her greatest joy is to walk alongside brides and grooms as they prepare for marriage. Ellen truly loves her career!

Ellen loves to used juxtaposed elements in her event design. For the styled shoot above, “I love the way we were able to pair the clean, modern lines of the space with soft, feminine details,” Ellen says. As for industry trends, Ellen is excited about the return on smaller, more intimate gatherings and “a shift back toward incorporating color. Nixing ‘mandatory’ traditions and replacing them with new ones that have significance to the bride and groom.” We can get on board with that!

In this wedding, “The courtyard was my favorite space,” Ellen says. “And I’m so glad that we got to use it all evening long – first for the ceremony and then again for dinner and lounging.”
“We flipped the space during cocktail hour to bring in a bar, lounge set and dining tables,” she explains. “It was gorgeous!”
Ellen describes her style as “comfortable elegance.” “We love to design sophisticated, personal events with lots of carefully curated details that are true to the couple and the space, without feeling overdone or stuffy. In addition to being beautiful, the goal is always for the space to feel warm and inviting. We take on a limited number of weddings every year,” says Ellen. “We truly focus on building relationships with our couples and their day-of teams.”
